Premium Red Blending Makeup for Bruising, Wounds and Warm Character Effects

Create flushed skin, softened wound effects and seamless warm shading with Global Colours Red Blending Face & Body Makeup. This premium 32g glycerine-based, water-activated cake has a softer, more workable texture than precision face paint, giving you time to buff, fade and blend the edges before it dries to a comfortable, flexible finish.

Why Choose Blending Makeup?

Choose this formula when you want diffused colour and gradual transitions rather than a hard red line. It is especially useful when an effect needs to appear as though it sits within the skin, such as irritation, warmth or the edges around a bruise or wound. Add Global Colours Precision Cake Paint afterwards when you need crisp detail or stronger definition.

Red Is Ideal For

  • Flushed, irritated or weathered-looking skin effects
  • Bruising, wound edges and theatrical injury makeup
  • Warm shading for monsters, devils and fantasy characters
  • Clowns, performers and dramatic character bases
  • Dry-brush textures, gentle washes and faded edges
  • Blending with Black or White to vary depth and tone

How to Activate and Apply

  1. Add a small amount of clean water or suitable sealer to the cake.
  2. Work the surface until the colour reaches a smooth, creamy consistency.
  3. Apply lightly with a sponge, smudger, dry brush or suitable makeup brush.
  4. Buff or stipple the colour where required, softening the edges while the formula remains workable.
  5. Build gradually in thin layers. Red can intensify quickly, so begin with less product and add more only when needed.

The colour can also be picked up dry with a dry brush for a soft, smoky or transparent effect. For large, streak-free areas, Global Colours recommends a small or large kabuki brush.

Blending Makeup vs Precision Cake Paint

Choose Blending Makeup for bases, shading, soft wound edges and gradients. Choose Precision Cake Paint for crisp lines, bold blocks of colour, outlines and sharp details. Many artists use both: Blending Makeup first for dimension, followed by Precision Cake Paint for definition.

Removal and Care

Remove gently with warm water and soap, makeup remover or suitable makeup wipes. Repeat if darker or layered colour remains. Clean brushes, sponges and blending tools after each use and allow the cake to dry before closing or storing it.
